I grew up in a rural community in southern Indiana, where I spent a lot of time running through the forest, walking the creeks and creating characters and stories in my head. As an adult, those things really haven't changed, except now I live in Colorado. Currently, I am a freelance writer, copy editor and calendar of events editor for Colorado Parent magazine; a wife, mom of two children and a school/church/community volunteer. I've written several children's picture books and am now represented by literary agent Michelle S. Lazurek at WordWise Media Services. I have many other stories in various stages, thanks to daily inspiration from the mouths of my kids.  Previously, I've worked as a craft magazine editor and book editor, and have written for a number of magazines, websites an blogs. I hold degrees in Journalism and English from Indiana University, and am a member of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Society of Children's Books Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI).
